Literature Text

Releasing my grip,
it drifted away
and joined the mass
of colorful circles in the sky.
Then, I felt a tug
on my hand.
Startled,
I looked down
to see a child.
Look.
She said,
and pointed.
It's pretty.
I lifted my gaze
and saw the sun
illuminate the sky
for the last time
and disappear among the
pink and violet
streaks of color.
And we smiled,
holding hands, as
we watched
the balloons
fade out into dots.
Ehh.. I wrote this to try and cheer up a friend of mine, who was upset that a "hot" actor had uh... a little too much of an age difference... um. yeah.

You know what I like about this poem? It's happy. Happy=good. :] And it's simple and pretty short. Pretty. Makes me smile. That's why I'm submitting it to RawEm0tion's current theme (as of now, 5-5-10): Selfless Promotion. I'm just going to promote this piece, because it's such a cheerful piece. And I hope reading it makes others as happy as it makes me.

Oh, and by the way, I'm thrilled to say that it was featured as a DLD (Daily Literature Deviation) on August 3, 2010. Here's a [link]! Aghhh so happifying.
